Today was a difficult day as it was the first holiday we celebrated without Oliver. The first of many. I just wanted to stay in bed all day, but thought about what Oliver had said to me many months before he died... he just didn't want us to be sad. So... I mustered up all the strength I could to get through the meal and try to make the most of it because that is what Ollie would have wanted and the other kids deserve it. It wasn't as all out as we used to do, but we managed to do it for the kids. I don't want the other kids to miss out on our family traditions even though I wasn't quite feelin' it myself this year. It had only been a month since Oliver's death. I can't bounce back that fast. (I'm still in survival mode as I type this up... four months later.) Anyways... we invited my mom and brother over and my brother's best friend, Bill, who was visiting from New Mexico. We had a good time.

After dinner, Bill busted out his guitar and played a few ditties. |

Then Eden got hers out that we got her for Christmas. |

Finn wanted to rock out, too! |

My mom bought some 'FIZZIES' which were from the 1950's. You place a tablet into some water and it bubbles up and flavors the water. Ummm... nastiness. I was not a fan. |
