Thank you to Mike, the MRI Tech, for giving Oliver an early Halloween treat! Usually during Oliver's radiation treatments they had candy for him to choose from afterwards, but they all had nuts so he couldn't eat them (he's allergic). Mike was so kind to remember this and made up for it by stocking a trick-or-treat pumpkin with skittles and starburst... two of his favorites! It's the little things... seriously...

9 month MRI - September 29th, 2010
Today Oliver had his nine month post diagnosis MRI down in Iowa City. This was a difficult one for me because nine months ago we were told he had 9 - 12 months left to live. We don't know exactly what the future holds or how things will eventually unfold and so this MRI was particularly nerve racking for me. Ed and I thought that it could possibly be growing because he was starting to complain of nausea every once in a while again and his eye was turning further and further inward. I was surprised to find out that there was no new growth and that it may have even shrunk a bit!!! What WONDERFUL news! This news means more time with Oliver -- more memories to make! Thank you, seriously, thank you for your prayers and your genuine concern for our family. It makes all the difference!

That is great news, Stacy! Thank you for posting the update. I think of you and your family daily and pray that God's richest blessings be yours today and in the days ahead. Please know that I'm here for you if ever you need to "get away" for a moment. I completely understand if you just need to sit and be quiet or talk about anything, or share a hug. I know you have many friends and family that are surrounding you with love, but I just want you to know that you are cared for by so many people, including me. Love ya, Joy
What good news! I'm so happy for you.
what wonderful words and news! we continue to pray for your family.

Stacy- That is great news! I had been wondering what the latest was on Oliver. I continue to pray for you and your cute little family!
Oh, I'm so glad. Every moment is so valuable and now ... more of them. Yay!!
Hurray!! So happy for you guys. That's awesome news. Love Ya!
So happy to hear the news. I don't know you or Oliver, but happened onto your blog because of "Super Spence." He is a third grader at my school (I'm the principal) who is fighting his own battle with cancer. We love him so much! I am so inspired by you, Oliver, Spencer, and his family (especially Holly, his mom) and your undying faith. Thank you for sharing you with all of us. I am a better, more christ-like compassionate person because of you. Know that my prayers are with you and your family.

Little details, they are the best! Looking forward to hearing more. Love You ALL!
You are right its the little things. So glad to hear of the positive news!!!! Hang in there. Love you all.
Stacy,
We met at a Tastefully Simple party this past summer. I have thought of you and your family and prayed for Oliver's healing so many times. I saw a link to your blog on a prayer board tonight and decided to surf on over to see how you all were doing.
How amazing is Our God that He has chosen YOU to be Oliver's mom and has given you more time with this precious little boy! I could not be happier for you all, and I praise the One who has answered so many prayers.
I will continue to pray for you, and for Oliver's healing.
As an aside, I read several of your older blog posts, and I really appreciated your post on "what to say" to a parent with a terminally ill child. I've struggled with what to say to some friends who lost their child. And some others whose child is undergoing a very scary surgery. I learned some valuable things from your post! I'm going to endeavor to "just say something" even if it's just "Hi." :) Thank you!!!
Stacy and Family,
We pray for you family daily!!! This is great news!!! Josie asks about Oliver often!!
