2012 September - Coralville Lake - Devonian Fossil Gorge

On our way home from the Curesearch walk in Iowa City, I wanted to stop by Coralville Lake and just see the pretty trees.  I never knew there was a fossil gorge there so we drove around a bit and then got out to 'explore' as the kids called it.  We had a really fun time and will definitely be going back again, maybe with a picnic lunch in tow.

This area kept reminding me of the bogs in Lord of the Rings.
Thought this might have been a coprolite.
Saw a ton of deer on our way out of the park.
The end of a LONG day.
Gorgeous pink clouds covering a harvest moon.  Reminded me of Oliver (moon) and Gabby (pink clouds), two DIPG angels.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE sunsets...
