Homemade Christmas Ornaments

Sunday, December 12, 2010 -

Today Oliver was supposed to give a talk in church, but with the freezing temperatures church was called off today. We hung out and decided to have my mom and brother, Chad over to make and paint some homemade Christmas ornaments. A family Christmas tradition we started many years ago!

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT DOUGH

Mix in a large bowl: 2 C. Flour
1 C. Salt
1 C. Water

Knead the dough 6-10 minutes on a floured surface.
Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough until about 1/4 inch thickness.
Use cookie cutters in desired shapes to cut out the ornaments.
Insert ornament hook and bake @ 325 - 350 degrees for 30 - 40 minutes.
Let cool a few minutes and paint!

What will I paint in 2011 bearing Nacho's face and/or figure?
A Valentine? A shamrock?? A firecracker???

"It's fantaaaaaaaaaastic!!!"
I think I'm a tad obsessed!
This is a movie that is GUARANTEED to make me laugh and I LOVE how nutty it is!

WOW!!! Those are all awesome. You guys have a family of little artist there! I love it. We did not do that this year, but I miss it! Glad you guys had so much fun.

Hello talent! I'm going to have to try those this year with my nephews. I'd be lucky if I could just get a plain ole star to look good though let alone make it a patrick. Nice job you guys!

I found you from you finding me on my blog!!! We both have Finns, and what a cute family you have. I actually am a professional photographer and use both the Canon 50D & 7D. The Canon Rebel is really amazing too and half the price.
